Fayez Sara, member of the Syrian Coalition slammed Russia’s letting go of Geneva I Communique though it took part in formulating it. Sarah lampooned Lavrov’s remarks that those who demand Assad’s departure as “politically immature,” stressing that “such hostile attitudes would affect the future relationship between the two countries,” and that the regime’s oppression will not “prevail on the will of the Syrian people.” Sarah also pointed out that “the delegation of the Assad regime is not showing any seriousness about reaching a political nor a humanitarian solution to the crisis, and instead has been pressuring the Syrian people from the besieged areas, a thing which the Syrian Coalition rejected as it is considered an attempt by the Assad regime to change demography of these areas. Moreover, Sara described Russia’s insistence on keeping Assad in power on the pretext of fear of terrorism as a “sheer lie and at the expense of the blood of the Syrian people, who have been massacred by Russian weapons and with the help of Russian military experts.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
