The Office of Turkey in the Syrian National Coalition’s Department of Foreign Relations met with the Coalition’s Representative Office in Turkey, the Syrian team in the Joint Syrian-Turkish Committee, and the Syrian Interim Government to discuss developing a joint plan of action to strengthen the relationship with the Turkish parliamentary parties and blocs; shed light on the Syrian Revolution; and clarify the reasons that forced millions of Syrians out of their country.
Participants in the meeting agreed to hold meetings with university students and the various Turkish social strata as well as to hold lectures at Turkish universities and local communities to highlight the historical relationship between the Syrian and Turkish people.
They also stressed the need to continue to work on ensuring that the residency of all Syrian nationals in Turkey is legal and to work with the Turkish authorities to reach an appropriate legal formula for all cases.
The participants stressed that the recent facilitations resulting from the work of the Joint Committee helped many Syrian nationals in Turkey, calling for more work to prevent attempts by the Assad regime to sow discord between the two brotherly peoples.
