The Syrian Coalition welcomes the UN Security Council resolution issued yesterday under Chapter VII imposing an arms embargo against Yemen’s Houthi militias among other measures.
Spokesman for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet said that “the Syrian Coalition and the Syrian people hope that this resolution will be the beginning of a final solution to the crisis in Yemen, especially since it was issued under Chapter VII as to make it enforceable.”
“The Syrian people are waiting for such efforts and moves as their four-year suffering has exceeded all limits and needs to come to an end. We urge our friendly countries to exert all the necessary efforts to pass a UN resolution to do justice to the Syrian people and overcome all the obstacles in the way of attempts to find a solution under the auspices of the UN Security Council.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
