Vice President of the Syrian Coalition Hisham Marwa criticized the Syrian opposition conference schedule to be held in Cairo at the end of this month, stressing that any conference that does not include all the components of the Syrian opposition will fail to bring about an acceptable solution to all Syrians.
He said that the Syrian Coalition will not attend the second Cairo Conference during the General Assembly meeting held on April 22nd.
Marwa pointed out that the exclusion of any component of the Syrian opposition is not acceptable, calling on opposition blocs not to compromise the fundamental principles of the Syrian people and to cooperate to overthrow the Assad regime.
Further Marwa said that “we really hope that the conference produces tangible results that conform with the principles of the Syrian revolution and its objectives of ending tyranny and dictatorship. However, considering the way these meetings are conducted, we are certain they will not yield significant results.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
