Hadi al-Bahra, president of the Syrian Coalition, met with the interim Prime Minister Ahmed Tomeh and reviewed all work carried out by the interim government during the last period. Bahra stressed that the technocratic institutional work should govern the structure of the interim government, pointing out that the selection of human resources should depend on experience and competence, and that the cadres that previously worked in the institutions of the Assad regime should not be marginalized. “The Syrian Coalition does not seek to eliminate the state and its institutions, but to maintain it and remove impurities and corruption planted by the Assad regime.” Interim Prime Minister Ahmed Tomeh said that “we have been working as a harmonious team and have achieved great successes though the support we are receiving can barely suffice financing the movement’s projects. We are seeking to establish a civil democratic state through institutional work without marginalizing any of the components of the Syrian society.” Tomeh also pointed out that “we focused on the projects inside of Syria over the last period,” while not denying there were some errors in the work of the government and pledged to avoid them in the future.
