The Syrian Coalition’s Political Committee convened today for a meeting that will continue until tomorrow in Istanbul and presided by the Coalition’s head Ahmad Jarba, who arrived from Cairo after taking part in the Arab ministerial meeting on Sunday. The meeting is to schedule the agenda of the General Assembly which will convene after the upcoming Arab summit on March 25 in Kuwait. One of the expected outcomes of the meeting is a decision on where the General Assembly will convene next, either Istanbul or Cairo. A source in the Syrian Coalition said that Jarba would brief the Political Committee during the meeting about his visit to Cairo. Jarba delivered a speech during the Arab ministerial meeting and also held meetings with Arab officials at various levels. A delegation from the Political Committee will travel to New York in the coming days to listen the report that will be submitted by Lakhdar Brahimi. The delegation will also meet with members of the U.S. Congress, in addition to conducting interviews with U.S media outlets. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
