Asa’ad Mustafa, defense minister in the Syrian interim government rejected Geneva II in a statement to Al Arabiya TV Channel, saying that “there is no clear basis for holding the peace conference and that his government would not be fooled by it.” Mustafa pointed out that “his efforts are now focused on the unification of the military effort.” For his part, Chief of Staff of the Free Syrian Army Salim Idris said: “We will not stop fighting during all the stages of the conference, and what strengthens our position as fighters is to get ammunition which will solidify our position in Geneva II.” (Source: Al Arabiya)
