The Syrian National Olympic Committee and the Syrian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness held a three-day training course for coaches and referees in the SOC’s office in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo.
Twenty five coaches and referees from the liberated north attended the training course, including Secretary-General of the Syrian National Olympic Committee Ahmad al-Ali, Head of the Syrian Boxing Federation Adnan Qaddour, Head of the Syrian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Ammar Karsho, and Vice-president of the Federation Abdul Rahman Ibrahim and Secretary Adnan al-Assani.
The course included theoretical training sessions and practical lectures, as well as lectures in sports medicine about the most serious injuries of bodybuilding.
On the last day of the course, participants were given certificates and honors after they passed the exam, which will allow them to referee matches that will be held in the liberated areas.
The course came as part of the Syrian National Olympic Committee’s plan to organize and frame sports in the liberated areas, bring all athletes and clubs together; and move to the professional stage. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
