President of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, Badr Jamous, provided an overview of the latest developments in the political process in Syria during the Tuesday meeting of the Political and Security Committee of the European Union in Brussels. The meeting, attended by ambassadors from 27 European countries, saw the participation of Dima Moussa, a member of the Commission and Vice-president of the Syrian Opposition.
Jamous outlined the political vision for a solution in Syria and addressed the challenges confronting the political process, with a particular focus on the Assad regime’s refusal to implement UN Resolution 2254. Emphasizing the importance of developing a strategy in collaboration with the international community, Jamous called for a proactive approach to dealing with a regime that rejects political solutions, ensuring it is not given opportunities to sow chaos and perpetuate the Syrian people’s tragedy.
The meeting featured an in-depth and extensive discussion on the mechanisms for implementing UN Resolution 2254 and advancing the political process, aiming to achieve security and stability in Syria and the broader region.
