On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) proudly acknowledged the fundamental role Syrian women have played in the Syrian Revolution across various fields.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the SOC said: “As the world celebrates and honors women on this day, it is important to note that thousands of Syrian women continue to suffer endless violations in Assad regime prisons due to their opposition to the regime and support for the Syrian Revolution.
Syrian women are subjected to torture, violence, and assault, without any international or humanitarian organizations taking steps to save them from the brutality of the regime.”
The SOC “emphasizes the critical importance of women’s roles in the Syrian Revolution and fully supports their continued involvement and work in the future. They have been and continue to be a cornerstone of the great Syrian Revolution, which has been sustained thanks to the efforts of all Syrians.”
