The coordinator of the Office of Social Studies and Documents in the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Firas Al-Masri, reported on the office’s activities during the past two months at the 66th regular session of the General Assembly.
During his presentation, Al-Masri discussed the studies conducted by the office, which focused on analyzing the recent briefing given by UN envoy Geir Pedersen to the Security Council, and pointed out inaccuracies and ambiguities in the briefing. He also discussed the international response to the devastating earthquake that struck Syria and Türkiye in February.
Furthermore, Al-Masri provided an overview of the latest international developments related to Syria, including the Western sanctions imposed on the Assad regime before and after the earthquake disaster, and explained the impact of regional and international relations on Syria.
