The Syrian Women’s Authority convened a meeting on Thursday in the Turkish city of Sanliurfa, attended by Vice President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Dima Moussa, and the coordinator of the Authority and SOC’s political committee member, Basma Muhammad. The meeting, organized by the Stabilization Support Unit, brought together SOC’s political committee member, Naziha Sillo, SOC member Berwin Remi, along with members of the Syrian Women’s Authority in Sanliurfa, and several Syrian women active in various fields, including media, legal, and civil society.
Vice President Dima Moussa provided updates on the latest developments in the political process, while coordinator Basma Muhammad briefed on SOC’s work and the latest developments in its plan in northern Syria, aimed at improving living conditions in the region.
Discussions centered on SOC’s work, the political process, and proposals for enhancing the involvement of Syrian women in political activities. Participants also deliberated on the Syrian Women’s Authority’s future focus areas to facilitate broader participation of women in public affairs and address the demands of women and Syrians across various domains.
Additionally, participants urged SOC to continue its effective communication with the Syrian community in Sanliurfa through its networks, committees, and institutions, including the Syrian Women’s Authority.
At the meeting’s conclusion, several recommendations were agreed upon to intensify the Syrian Women’s Authority’s activities, aiming to enhance communication between SOC and Syrian men and women, recognized as crucial for SOC’s political work and the broader political process.
