Syria’s ambassador to Qatar, Nizar Al-Hiraki, and Head of the Council of Syrian Community in Qatar, Muhammad Yassin Najjar, met with the CEO of Qatar Charity, Yousef Al-Kuwari, and Assistant CEO of Foreign Projects Faisal Al-Fahida.
Al-Hiraki praised Qatar Charity’s enormous humanitarian efforts around the world, especially in Syria. He said that the Syrian embassy is seeking to secure urgent aid for the IDP in northwestern Syria, especially with the approach of winter, stressing that the Syrian embassy in Qatar stands ready to take part in the efforts to ensure that this aid reaches the largest possible number of those in need.
The two sides also discussed the conditions of the Syrian community in the State of Qatar and the efforts to secure aid for the Syrian households affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Najjar gave a detailed overview on the reality of education, healthcare and the daily needs of those households.
Al-Kuwari instructed the Assistant CEO of Domestic Projects to assess the needs of the Syrian community in Qatar, especially with regard to urgently accommodating Syrian students in Qatari schools.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged shields of honor as they agreed to hold more meetings with the aim of strengthening coordination between the embassy and Qatar Charity. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
