The Coalition: The Assad regime aims to cause a huge natural disaster, apparently not aware of its size

The Syrian National Coalition requested from the international community through a press release released today calling for holding the regime accountable as soon as possible for dropping explosive barrels on the foundation of the Euphrates dam, warning that this poses a significant threat to millions of Syrians all over Syria. The press release pointed out the need to rein in the extreme carelessness, recklessness and irresponsibility towards millions of people. The Coalition added in its press release that “today the regimes is preparing an enormous humanitarian disaster, it seems that they do not know the size of, by targeting the largest aqueous complex in Syria and one of the most important sources of electricity production in the country. Since it is surrounded by highly populated residential areas the destruction of parts of the dam could lead to flooding as well as the killing of thousands and possibly millions.”
