Mohamed Khair al-Wazir, member of the Syrian Coalition and head of the Coalition’s offices in Syria said that “we helped conduct several training courses for women in East Ghouta which has been suffering from a crippling siege by regime forces for over two years. The courses included training on first aid, physical therapy, mental health care, literacy and English language. “Such courses are aimed at confronting the Assad regime’s attempts to spread ignorance in East Ghota through imposing a suffocating siege on the area. The training courses, which were chosen based on a careful study of the needs of the people in the area, also aim to rehabilitate the human resources, especially in the medical field in light of the lack of medical staffs needed to help civilian victims of the Assad regime’s barrel bombing and indiscriminate shelling.
