A woman and a child were killed and others were wounded in shelling by artillery and heavy machine guns by the Assad regime and Russian forces on rural Idlib in the past 24 hours.
The Syrian Civil Defense said that the Assad regime and Russian forces targeted the village of Ma’arat Al-Na’asan in northeastern rural Idlib with mortar fire. The shelling killed a woman and injured two children.
The Civil Defense pointed out that the Assad regime targeted the village of Afes in eastern rural Idlib with heavy machine guns, killing a toddler.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) earlier stressed that the Assad and Putin’s regimes continue to violate ceasefire agreements, and seek to destabilize the liberated areas.
It stressed that the killing machine of the Assad and Russian regimes continues to kill civilians in the liberated areas without any real international deterrence, despite the exposure of their policies based on destruction and killings.
The SOC also stressed that the international community must put an end to these grave violations against our people in the liberated areas. It also stressed the need to enforce the UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2254, to put an end to the 11-year-long tragedy that Syrians lived under the oppression and criminality of Assad’s forces and its allied militias.
