The Syrian Coalition condemns the Kurdish YPG militiaman’s execution of a 16-year old child near Qamishli in Al Hasaka province, describing the murder as “a heinous crime and another example of the atrocities committed by this terrorist group against other ethnic groups in the area.” The Syrian Coalition stresses that the YPG militias, rather than defending the Syrian people, including the Kurds, are seeking to implement an ideological project that is utterly alien to the goals of the Syrian revolution.” Last week, YPG militiamen kidnapped the child Affan Al-Abbosh near Qamishli and tortured him to death and desecrated his body, according to activists. “We warn that such atrocious acts, if continued, will have dire consequences that may cause an ethnic conflict in the area. Moreover, these will serve the goals of the Assad regime whose survival depends on sowing sedition and divisions among the components of Syria’s social fabric. The YPG militias are proving time and again that they are just one of Assad’s tools that he uses to oppress the aspirations of the Syrian people.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
