The Vice President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdel Majid Barakat, congratulated all the residents of Deir Ezzor province on the liberation of their land from Assad’s forces, sectarian Iranian militias, and most recently the PYD terrorist militia. He affirmed that the liberation of Deir Ezzor has completed the joy of Syrians.
In a press statement, Barakat highlighted that Deir Ezzor was among the first provinces to rise against the Assad regime. Its people were among the pioneers of the revolution, standing in solidarity with their brothers and sisters across other provinces. However, they have suffered greatly from the crimes of Assad’s regime, sectarian Iranian militias, ISIS, and most recently the PYD terrorist militia.
Barakat stressed that the battles for liberation will not stop until Raqqa, Hasakah, and Qamishli are also freed, the rightful owners of the land return to their homes, oppression is lifted from all Syrians, and the phase of rebuilding Syria begins with the participation of all its diverse components, ethnicities, and religions.
