The interim Ministry of Health released a report that documents the Assad regime’s targeting of three medical centers operating in Aleppo and its countryside during the month of June 2014. According to the report, regime forces targeted Al Zarzour Hospital on June 19, 2014. The report includes images of the massive material damage caused by aerial shelling on the Sakhour Hospital on June 16 and on Shawki Hilala Hospital on June 22. The images also show the severe damage to fuel tank and the main electricity generator in the hospital. The Ministry said that the documentation was by “our medical cadre working in medical centers in Syria. The photos bear the name of the targeted hospitals, its location, the date of the bombardment and the damage caused to them.” The Syrian Coalition has condemned “the Assad regime’s cowardly targeting of the ill, the wounded and doctors,” stressing that it is a terrorist criminal act and is part of a series of crimes committed by the Assad regime against the doctors and medical staffs. The targeting of innocent civilians and the wounded will not pass unpunished, and the criminals will be tried for war crimes committed against the Syrian people. These crimes will not break the will of the people who have been demanding for freedom, justice and democracy.” (Source: Syrian Coalition + Syrian Interim Government)
