Merger of Five Rebel Factions into the Fifth Corps

Five rebel armed factions announced a merger to form the Fifth Corps which will adopt the flag of independence as their banner. According to the statement of the merger, the aim of the new formation will be overthrowing the Assad regime and ensure stability and safety for the Syrian people. The statement also called on all "rebel formations battling the Assad regime to unify and coordinate their efforts. The signatory rebel groups are: Division 15, 101st Infantry Division, 1st Brigade, Fursan al-Haqqa Brigaded, and Suqoor Jabal al-Zawiya Brigade. Jamal Maarouf, commander of Syria Revolutionaries Front (SRF) formally declared war on ISIS in north and northeastern Syria, noting that rebel fighters headed to rural Aleppo to push ISIS fighters out of the province, and will aft wards move on ISIS-held Al Raqqa province.
