In response to the escalation of aerial attacks on Dara’a province, the Syrian Coalition holds the Assad regime and its allies, namely the Russian and the Iranian regimes, responsible for the massacre that claimed the lives of 17 civilians, including women and children.
The Syrian Coalition calls upon the UN Security Council to take urgent action to stop these massacres affecting civilians in Syria.
In the early hours of Friday, regime and Russian warplanes carried out airstrikes on 11 rebel-villages and towns in rural Dara’a, killing 17 civilians in an initial count. The airstrikes hit the towns of Nawa, Tafas, Sheikh Misqin, Busra al-Harir, western Maliha, Inkhil, Al-Hirak, Al-Soura, Namir, Tal Jamou’, Sheikh Saad, and Salmin.
The Syrian Coalition urges the international community to condemn crimes by the Assad regime backed by Iranian militias as well as bombing of civilians by the Russian air force. Around 3,233 Syrians were killed during October and November of 2015, including 732 people who were killed as a result of the Russian aerial bombardment. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
