The Stabilization Support Unit concluded the closing conference for the protection and development of Syrian journalists in the freed territories on Wednesday. Participants discussed the reality of media workers in the freed territories as they conferred about the Journalists Code of Honor and the major legal provisions.
The conference brought together Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG) Abdurrahman Mustafa, Minister of Justice, Minister of Finance and Economy, SIG’s Secretary General, Media Commission, Director of Public Relations, Chairman of the Free Aleppo Provincial Council, Chairman of the Syrian Media Union, Aleppo Media Union, Aleppo Bar Association, and many media professionals.
Mustafa spoke about the role of the media and its influence on shaping the public opinion, shedding light on events that would enlighten society and help protect media professionals from violations.
The conference, which is the second of its kind, aims to protect and develop the role of the media and media professionals, organize media work, and activate the internal governance of local media bodies. A number of Syrian media professionals were also honored during the conference.
