Secretary of the political committee in the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdulbasit Abdullatif, emphasized that the PYD terrorist militia continues its oppressive and tyrannical practices in the areas it controls east of the Euphrates River, committing crimes against civilians and restricting their daily livelihoods, much like the Assad regime has done for the past five decades.
Abdullatif stated that the secret deals between the PYD terrorist militia and the Assad regime have become exposed and clear to both farmers and the people of the region. He noted that the low prices set by the PYD militia for wheat this year aim to force farmers to sell their crops to the Assad regime.
Abdullatif pointed out that the arrests carried out by the PYD militia against participants in the protests against “wheat pricing” confirm their tyrannical practices, which are unacceptable after the great sacrifices made by the Syrian people for more than 13 years.
Abdullatif called on the parties supporting the PYD militia to stop their support, put pressure on the militia to cease their terrorist practices, immediately release the detainees, and raise wheat prices to be in proportion with market rates.
