Member of the Syrian Coalition Jawad Abu Hatab called on Syrian businessmen to support educational projects in the liberated areas, particularly the Faculty of Medicine at Aleppo Free University during a meeting with the political committee earlier today.
Abu Hatab described a pressing need for qualified medical staff in liberated areas, especially in light of the migration of the qualified medical personnel to outside Syria and the death and detention of many doctors and medics by the Assad regime.
Abu Hatab, who is also dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Aleppo Free University, gave a detailed explanation of the status of the Faculty of Medicine and the Technical Medical Institute as well as their five branches in the provinces of Dara’a, Rural Damascus, Homs, Idlib and Aleppo.
Abu Hatab said that 200 students have been admitted to the Faculty of Medicine for the 2016 academic year, in addition to many more who registered in different faculties and institutes of Aleppo Free University. (Sources: Syrian Coalition).
