The Action Group for the Palestinians of Syria is calling on the international community and human rights organizations to hold those responsible for the crimes and violations committed against the residents of the Tadamon neighborhood in southern Damascus accountable.
In a report titled “Tadamon Neighborhood: From Establishment to Massacre,” the Action Group holds the Assad regime responsible for the atrocities committed against the neighborhood’s residents, particularly the Tadamon Massacre that was revealed in videos leaked from the regime’s Military Intelligence.
The Action Group is demanding the disclosure of mass graves in which the bodies of the victims, who were executed and buried in the Tadamon neighborhood, were taken to unknown locations in order to obliterate the scene of the crime. They are also calling for access to the burial sites to determine the identities of the victims, the release of detainees, and revealing the fate of missing persons who were detained in the Tadamon neighborhood.
The report emphasizes the right of displaced residents of the Tadamon neighborhood to return to their homes without restrictions or conditions, as this right is guaranteed in accordance with local and international laws.
It is worth noting that the Action Group has documented at least 21 Palestinian-Syrians who were executed in the Al-Tadamon neighborhood by the Assad regime and its allied militias. Meanwhile, 83 Palestinian-Syrians were arrested, and their fate is still unknown, including entire Palestinian-Syrian families, such as the Amairi and Al-Abdullah families.
