Co-chair of the Constitutional Committee and member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee, Hadi al-Bahra, stressed that sustainable peace in Syria can only be achieved after ensuring the rule of law, human rights, justice, and accountability.
In comments he posted on Twitter, Al-Bahra made it clear that sustainable peace can only be achieved through a comprehensive, genuine political transition on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254 and the Geneva Communique of 2012.
Member of the SOC, Hafez Karkoot, stressed that the survival of Assad and his regime will lead to dividing Syria, not the other way around.
Moreover, SOC’s member Yasser Delwan stressed that there will be no solution in Syria except by eliminating the root cause of terrorism in the region. He said that no one should forget who was behind the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri, supporting the hostile terrorist separatist movements, chaos and terror in all countries of the region, the spread of drugs, the displacement of the Syrian people, and demographic change in Syria.
