Hadi al-Bahra, a member of the political committee of the Syrian National Coalition (SOC) and the SOC’s representative in the Syrian Recovery Trust Fund, said that displaced individuals have the right to live with dignity.
Al-Bahra emphasized the need to support these individuals, who are mostly women and children living in harsh conditions. The Director General of the Trust Fund, Hani Khabbaz, similarly emphasized the Trust Fund’s commitment to supporting displaced households in northern Syria under the Emergency Response Plan.
The Trust Fund has taken steps to address the worsening living conditions faced by displaced individuals, particularly during the winter months.
In partnership with the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit, the Trust Fund delivered 2,798 stoves and 94.6 tons of heating materials to displaced households in northern Aleppo province.
The Trust Fund’s emergency response plan for this year, with a budget of 2.05 million euros, aims to benefit 18,000 displaced households, or around 108,000 individuals. Since the establishment of the emergency response plan in 2022, the Trust Fund has also delivered 3,000 tents and 8,000 food parcels to those in need.
