On Monday, Assad regime forces targeted residential areas in western rural Aleppo with suicide drones. They also shelled with artillery several villages and towns in southern rural Idlib.
Activists reported that Assad forces targeted the villages of Tadil and Kafr Ta’al in western Aleppo with six suicide drones, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling on the outskirts of Al-Bara and Al-Fatira in southern rural Idlib.
This comes after a deadly day in the town of Al-Bab in rural Aleppo, which witnessed shelling from joint positions of the PYD terrorist militia and regime forces. The attack killed two civilians and injured more than 18 others, six of whom are in critical condition.
Additionally, a young girl, Nada Al-Hamoud, was killed on Saturday in PYD militia shelling on the village of Al-Jarkh west of Tal Abyad in rural Raqqa. Activists called for popular protests against the ongoing crimes committed by the militia against civilians.
On the same day, a girl was killed, and six other civilians were injured in Binnish and Ariha in rural Idlib due to artillery shelling by regime forces targeting residential neighborhoods, according to the Syrian Civil Defense.
The Syrian Civil Defense noted that regime forces targeted the outskirts of Binnish in eastern Idlib with artillery and rockets, killing a girl and injuring her two siblings. Additionally, five others, including four children, were injured in artillery shelling by regime forces on residential areas in the town of Ariha in southern rural Idlib.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) emphasized that the repeated crimes by Assad’s regime, its partners, and backers reflect their bloody approach and rejection of any political solution or international demands for implementing relevant resolutions on Syria, particularly the Geneva of 2012 Communique and Resolutions 2118 and 2254.
The SOC reiterated the need for the international community to take serious and concrete measures to stop Assad’s crimes. It also caled for exerting pressure on the Assad regime backers to engage in the political process, and activate accountability mechanisms based on documented reports and evidence of thousands of crimes against humanity.
The SOC also stressed the importance of halting support for the PYD terrorist militia, citing its continued grave violations against civilians, including repeated shelling, child recruitment, and oppressive policies against local populations.
