The Secretary of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee, Abdul Majeed Barakat, called on the international community to designate the PYD militia a terrorist group, stop supporting it, and holding it accountable for its crimes against Syrian civilians.
Barakat stressed that this militia does not represent anyone and is an extension of the PKK terrorist organization, which is already on the international terrorism list.
Barakat stressed that the PYD militia continues to commit violations against Syrians of all backgrounds, adding that this behavior is an extension of the Assad regime’s strategy to silence the Syrian people.
According to local media outlets, the PYD militia launched an arrest campaign inside the Hawija al-Sawafi camp for IDP in the Al-Kasrat subdistrict south of Raqqa city, and in the Al-Rashid camp on the outskirts of Raqqa city on Tuesday and detained many people.
