Bassam Abdullah Appointed as Ambassador to Germany

The Syrian Coalition appointed Bassam Abdullah as its ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. An informed source said that diplomatic representation of the Coalition on an international scale is one of the important steps towards recognition of the Syrian Coalition as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people . The source added that the expansion of diplomatic representation of the Syrian Coalition is one of the important indicators of withdrawal of international legitimacy from the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Many diplomats and military personnel have defected since the beginning of the revolution in protest of the regime’s killing of Syrians, especially civilians who have been calling for its downfall for more than two and a half years. The source said that the embassy will serve Syrians who are abroad and provide them with their needs in order to facilitate their business and assist them in achieving their goals.
