Khaled Al-Mishri, Chairman of the High Council of State, denounced the recent visit by an Arab delegation, including Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh, to the Assad regime in Damascus. Al-Mishri stated that the visit does not represent the attitude of the Libyan people and that the Assad regime is a criminal regime, comparing its actions to those of Hitler and Mussolini.
Al-Mishri emphasized that the Libyan people stand in solidarity with the Syrian people and their cause and that the Assad regime can never be dealt with under any pretext.
Al-Mishri went on to condemn Bashar al-Assad, calling him a criminal and a butcher who used barrel bombs to kill the Syrian people. He also praised the Syrian people’s previous experience in rescuing victims trapped under rubble due to the regime’s daily bombing.
