Lebanese journalist and former minister, May Chidiac, said that Bashar Al-Assad is a criminal and a butcher, adding that the difference between him and his father, Hafez Al-Assad, is that Assad the father was a smart criminal, while his son Bashar is a stupid criminal.
In a televised interview talking about her career on Monday, Chidiac pointed out that the end of Bashar Al-Assad will be like the end of Rustum Ghazaleh.
Chidiac indicated that the Hezbollah terrorist militia was Assad’s partner in the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, stressing that the Assad regime was behind all the assassinations committed in Lebanon.
Chidiac also talked about how the Assad regime’s security forces used to intervene in the work of the Lebanese satellite channel LBC, and about the attempts of those forces to influence the channel’s media discourse and interfere in its editorial policy.
Chidiac recounted that after she interviewed Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi in 2004, she received a verbal message from Rustum Ghazaleh via a Lebanese political figure threatening that he would “drink her blood.” The interview highlighted the behavior of the Assad regime’s security agencies and the career of Rustum Ghazaleh,
The Lebanese journalist, who was a vocal opponent of the Assad regime and Hezbollah terrorist militia, survived an assassination attempt on September 25, 2005, when a bomb was detonated in her car, causing her to lose her left leg and arm.
