The Coordinator of the Communities Office in the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, presented his work report to the General Assembly during its 65th regular session. He discussed the activities carried out by the office during the last period.
Maktabi highlighted that during meetings with Syrian communities, they expressed their willingness to undertake economic projects in liberated areas in coordination with Türkiye. The office also emphasized the importance of the visions proposed during meetings held with Syrian communities worldwide.
Maktabi said that Syrian organizations in the United States are making significant efforts to thwart attempts by countries seeking to normalize relations with the Assad regime. He also noted the ability of Syrian organizations and their role in influencing the decisions of host governments.
Maktabi stressed that the role of Syrian organizations and communities is not limited to their current efforts against the regime, but will also play a prominent role in the reconstruction process after its fall.
Maktabi also reviewed its activities involving expatriate women with Syrian communities, including a meeting with the Syrian community in America on March 12, 2022, a meeting with the Syrian community in Germany on April 12, 2022, and a meeting organized by the Office between the head of the negotiations commission and the Syrian community in America on December 18, 2022.
