The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) warned against the continued inaction towards the war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the continuing violations of human rights being committed by the PYD militia in Syria, including the recruitment of children into its ranks.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the SOC said that there is no good terrorism and bad terrorism, as there can be no double standards with regards to responding to war criminals and perpetrators of human rights violations. The SOC calls for reconsidering the support being provided to these militias which are worse than ISIS.
The SOC also called for lifting the cover on this militia, condemning its actions, and hold its accountable for their crimes and violations, especially the kidnapping, recruitment of child soldiers and depriving them of their future. There is a real need to rethink the way of dealing with this group.
“Taking action to put an end to the forced recruitment of children and working according to a vision that abides by the relevant international agreements is crucial to salvaging the future of Syria.” (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
