The Syrian Interim Government’s (SIG) Minister of Health Maram Al-Sheikh met with Head of the Department of External Hospitals and Head of the Emergencies Department in the Turkish Ministry of Health Mustafa Taşkın to discuss ways to develop cooperation in the management of health sector, especially in view of the recent detection of positive coronavirus cases in the liberated areas.
Al-Sheikh gave an overview of SIG’s efforts and plan to respond to the coronavirus pandemic in the liberated areas, stressing the need for coordination between the Syrian Ministry of Health and the Turkish Ministry of Health.
The two sides agreed on holding similar meetings in the near future in order to develop cooperation in the area of healthcare.
Al-Sheikh thanked the Turkish government for its continued support to the Syrian people, both those in the liberated areas and those residing in Turkey, as well as for the noble stances that the Syrian people will not forget. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
