During the 65th meeting of the Syrian National Coalition’s General Assembly, the Coordinator of the Religious Relations Committee, Farouk Tayfur, presented a report on the Committee’s activities and work over the past two months. He discussed the meetings and engagements the committee had with various religious groups, organizations, and individuals operating within Syria, as well as visiting religious figures and associations in Türkiye and liberated areas.
Tayfur also highlighted the Committee’s efforts to build bridges of communication and bring together the perspectives of the Syrian people and their representatives within the leadership of the revolution and opposition. He provided an overview of the SOC’s work since its founding and the progress that has been made in the political process.
Attendees of the meetings also stressed the importance of continuing the reform process within the SOC and reducing the gap between it and the revolutionary movements. They also emphasized the need to resist false ideologies that are foreign to Islam and Syrian customs and traditions, and to clarify this to the world and the international community to dispel any notions of extremism. The SOC was urged to play a vital role in this regard and to present the optimal image of the Syrian revolution and its people.
