Regime Forces Prevent Victims of Barrel Bombs from Seeking Refuge in Western Aleppo Activists in Aleppo said due to the latest increase in the number of displaced people who seek refuge in the western regime-held districts in Aleppo, regime forces have been preventing the residents of these districts from hosting the displaced people, describing them as “illegitimate residents.” Regime forces allow hosting close relatives only and threatened to arrest every person who contravenes it. The Air Force Intelligence branch issued a circular distributed to the owners of real estate offices not to hire apartments for families fleeing from the districts coming under aerial shelling in eastern Aleppo. Hundreds of Syrian Families Flee to Arsal in Lebanon An influx of Syrian refugees has been fleeing Yabroud north of Damascus to the town of Arsal in eastern Lebanon as a result of the ongoing offensive launched by regime forces backed by terrorist militias of Hezbollah. Activists said residents of the area also fled due to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the continuation of the siege and power outages. According to UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Lebanon, around 2,000 families crossed the borders into Lebanon over the last few days. NGOs in Arsal estimate that about 1,000 Syrian families are stuck between the Yabroud the Lebanese borders. Revolutionaries Repel Hezbollah’s And Regime Forces Around Yabroud The Unified Military Command in Qalamoun, which consists of the FSA, Al Nusra Front, the Islamic Front and unaffiliated battalions repelled attempts by regime forces and Hezbollah’s terrorist to storm the town of Yabroud northwest of Damascus. The revolutionaries destroyed three tanks, a Gvozdika gun, a bulldozer and several armoured vehicles belonging to Hezbollah. The revolutionaries also killed 30 members of the attacking forces and managed to advance on strategic points that were occupied by regime forces. Regime forces backed by Hezbollah have been launching an offensive to capture the town of Yabroud and the surrounding towns. The town came under intense artillery shelling, causing civilians casualties, including women and children. Hundreds of families fled the town which has a population of 130,000 people. Meanwhile, two children died today due to malnutrition caused by the siege imposed by regime forces. The death toll as a result of malnutrition in Yarmouk camp rose to more than 108 people. Regime forces partially opened Babila crossing partly as a prelude to the implementation of the truce signed with the Free Syrian Army. Assad’s warplanes launched barrel bomb attacks on Darayya, while the districts of Zamalka, Ein Tarma and Zakia came under artillery shelling by regime forces. FSA Shoots Down a Warplane Near Kweres Air Base The Free Syrian Army said they shot down a warplane near Kweres air base east of Aleppo, while regime forces shelled the industrial area of Aleppo, killing 15 civilians. Regime forces also shelled Sheikh Najjar and Masaken Hanano, killing 16 civilians and wounding dozens. Director of the Relief Office of Hanano Local Council Musab Aliwi was assassinated by ISIS. Residents of Qarm al-Qaterji sent a distress call demanding the concerned authorities to lift the rubble under which dozens of civilians have been buried since February 8. Brigades of the Islamic Front clashed with regime forces today near Carlton Hotel in Aleppo and cut the supply routes to the castle of Aleppo. Clashes broke out near Al Nairab air base between battalions of the Islamic Front and regime forces, while Assad’s warplanes launched barrel bomb attacks on the town of Hairatan, killing four civilians and wounding dozens.
