Seven People Starve to Death in Besieged Yarmouk and Eastern Ghouta At least seven people, including three children, died of malnutrition on Monday and Tuesday in Yarmouk Camp and Eastern Ghouta which suffer months-long siege by regime forces. Medical sources said that two men, one elderly and child died in Yarmouk Camp on Monday after their health severely deteriorated due to lack of food and medical supplies. More than 100 people have died so far in Yarmouk Camp of of hunger or lack of medical supplies. The delivery of food aid, which is overseen by UNRWA has been stopped for 11 days though most FSA battalions withdrew from from the camp under an agreement reached between them and the Palestinian factions. Aleppo Sharia Committee Incorporate Aleppo Unified Judicial Council The Sharia Committee of Aleppo announced it incorporated the Unified Judicial Council into its office to unify the judicial reference in the city. The Committee also said that all judges and judicial personnel of the Unified Judicial Council will begin their work in the judicial office of the Sharia Committee starting from next Saturday, Feb. 22. Death Toll: 36 People Killed Today, 73 Yesterday. The Local Coordination Committees documented 73 people killed in Syria yesterday, while 36 were killed as of press time of today, including three children and two women. Deaths were cited as: 19 in Aleppo, 8 in Damascus, 5 in Dara’a, and one in each of Hama, Homs, Idlib and Al-Hasakah. (Source: LCC)
Revolutionaries Repel Regime Forces in Yabroud The Free Syrian Army clashed with regime forces backed by terrorist militias of Hezbollah on the outskirts of Yabroud, alongside aerial shelling by regime forces on Al Suhel. FSA and Islamist battalions clashed with regime forces east of Al Dumeir, while the districts of Darayya, Zamalka and Jisrin came under aerial shelling by regime forces. FSA Captures Chemical Warfare Battalion in Dara’a Province The FSA captured the Chemical Warfare Battalion near the town of Basr al-Harir in rural Dara’a after violent clashes with regime forces with reports of the deaths of nine pro-Assad fighters. Assad’s warplanes launched barrel bomb attacks on Yadodeh, killing a number of civilians. Battalions of the Free Syrian Army and the Islamic Front repelled regime forces who were trying to storm the villages of al-Shuli and Adnani in rural Quneitra and killed 25 pro-Assad soldiers. Assad’s air forces dropped barrel bombs on the town of Al Jujja in rural Quneitra, while regime forces conducted artillery bombardment on the towns and villages south of Quneitra with no reports of casualties. FSA and Islamist Battalions Capture Ammiyah Checkpoint East of Hama The Free Syrian Army and Islamist battalions captured Ammiyah checkpoint near Al-Sa’en east of Hama. Brigades of the Islamic Front destroyed a BMP vehicle on Ma’an-Souran road. The Free Syrian Army clashed with regime forces on the outskirts of Morek, while Assad’s warplanes launched barrel bomb attacks on civilian neighborhoods of Kafr Zeita, causing civilian casualties and material damage. Islamic Front Brigades Blew Up a Regime Headquarters in Aleppo Brigades of the Islamic Front blew up a regime headquarters in the Old City of Aleppo. Activists said that the headquarters is manned by a large number of Iranian officers and military experts and soldiers of the Assad regime and Hezbollah. Assad’s warplanes bombed the town of Al Atareb in rural Aleppo, killing 15 civilians and wounding dozens. The towns of Orm al-Qubra and Orm al-Sughra came under aerial shelling, killing two people and injuring dozens. Assad’s warplanes also launched barrel bomb attacks on the neighborhoods of Masaken Hanano, Sakhour and Sukkari, killing eight civilians and wounding dozens. The Syrian network for Human Rights said that 508 barrel bombs were dropped by regime forces on Aleppo and killed 843 people, mostly civilians, including 221 children and 119 women. The Network estimates that 90 people were killed on average over the past 17 days. The aerial shelling forced 175,000 civilians, while 25% of Aleppo is now destroyed or extensively damaged as a result of barrel bombs.
