Member of the Syrian Coalition Burhan Ghalioun calls on the Saudi-lead coalition to lift the ban on the delivery of anti-aircraft weapons to the Syrian rebels in response to Russia’s decision to sell S-300 anti-aircraft missiles to the Iranian regime which is to blame for fueling conflicts in the region.
“The Saudi-led coalition needs to take this step to show its commitment to achieve its goals in stopping the Iranian expansion in the region and its attempts to destabilize the Arab countries,” Ghalioun stresses.
He points out that that the Russian move aims to encourage Tehran to continue with its defiant policies in the region and also to send a message to the Saudi-led coalition to lower the roof of their expectations and limit their ambitions in the development of offensive regional policy that will no doubt affect the situation in Syria and elsewhere. Moreover, the Russian move aims to remind the West of Moscow’s role in the redistribution of power and influence in the region. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
