Had of the Syrian Interim Government (SOG), Abdurrahman Mustafa, presented a report on the work of his government during the past two months to the General Assembly during its 60th regular session.
Mustafa spoke about the official meetings he had with Western envoys and diplomats, in which he outlined SIG’s projects and plan of action to improve the living conditions in the liberated areas.
Mustafa also gave an overview on the field tours he made in the liberated areas, during which he met with officials of local councils, services institutions and revolutionary bodies.
He also highlighted the major activities carried out by SIG’s ministries and institutions in the liberated areas, pointing out that the SIG issued a decision to create the Sports and Youth Commission. It also took decisions in the areas of health, education, security and living conditions, indicating that this is in accordance with advance plans and commensurate with the reality on the ground.
Mustafa presented the work of the Ministry of Defense in following up the field situation on all fronts and raising the combat readiness of the Syrian National Army fighters. He also highlighted the work of the Department of Military Ethics in preparing human rights courses aimed at raising human rights awareness among members and leaders and strengthening commitment to international humanitarian law and preventing abuses, which is in line with the vision and goals of the Syrian National Army.
Mustafa also talked about the role of the Ministry of Interior in controlling the security situation in the liberated areas and fending off most terrorist operations targeting civilians, markets and infrastructure in these areas.
The report also highlighted the work of the Ministry of Economy, the General Grain Corporation and the General Directorate of Customs. He reviewed the living conditions in the liberated areas, the inflation rate and the available materials, in addition to the quantities of wheat ground by the mills of the Corporation and the price of bread.
Mustafa also talked about the role of the Ministry of Health in providing healthcare to citizens in the liberated areas, in addition to its great role in confronting the covid pandemic, pointing out that the vaccination campaign is going well.
