The National Olympic Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Free Syrian Students Union in the office of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo with the aim of organizing sports activities for university students in the liberated areas.
The memorandum was signed by Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee Ahmed Al-Ali and President of the Student Union Muhammad Yaseen. In attendance were President of the Syrian Federation for Special Sports and People of Determination Ibrahim Shalash, President of the Syrian Federation of Body Building and Fitness Ammar Karsho, member of the Executive Office of the Student Union Hussein Akkash, and member of the Executive Office of the Students’ Union Maymoun Rahal.
The memorandum included the launch of the Central University Sports Club in the liberated areas, which will be tasked with organizing sports activities for university students and the formation of university sports teams.
The National Olympic Committee on Saturday concluded a training course for coaches and referees in sports medicine, sports injuries, and sports nutrition in the SOC’s office in Azaz.
The course was supervised by Ibrahim Shalash and Hussam Khalifa, after which the participants received certificates that were distributed by Secretary General Al-Ali and member of the Committee Adnan Qaddour. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
