The outgoing President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, formally transferred the presidency to his successor, Hadi Al-Bahra, on Wednesday. This transition took place in the presence of members of the presidential body, the Secretary-General, and the vice-presidents. Al-Meslet expressed his wishes for Al-Bahra’s success in accomplishing the Syrian revolution’s goals for freedom, dignity, and the removal of the Assad regime.
Al-Bahra and the new presidential body also assumed responsibility for the field and political matters concerning Syria, which are currently under the SOC’s purview. He emphasized the importance of building upon previous achievements, preparing for forthcoming challenges, and honoring the significant sacrifices made by the Syrian people over the past 12 years.
