The Secretary-General of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Haytham Rahmeh, has strongly condemned the terrorist and aggressive missile strikes launched by Iranian militias on liberated areas in Syria, the Erbil Governorate in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and the Bangur region in the Balochistan region of Pakistan. Rahmeh stressed that these attacks by Iran pose a severe threat to international peace and security, signaling potential chaos in the region.
In a statement, Rahmeh expressed concern over the seemingly tepid international response to Iran’s actions against the Syrian people. He emphasized that such lukewarm reactions have emboldened Iran to commit further attacks in various regions.
Rahmeh underscored the urgent need for resolute international action to halt Iranian violations and attacks on regional countries. He urged the international community not to allow Iran to expand its influence in the region and oppress its people, a pattern that has been evident since Iran’s intervention on the side of the Assad regime against the Syrian people.
Emphasizing the right of the targeted countries, along with the Syrian people, Rahmeh called for the adoption of all legal measures to deter Iranian militias. He emphasized the importance of preventing them from threatening the security of the region, dismissing Iran’s pretexts as blatantly false and disconnected from the truth.
