Member of the Syrian Coalition’s political committee Osama Taljo said that rebel and FSA fighters offered amnesty to pro-regime militants fighting in Aleppo if they laid down their arms. The city has been witnessing fierce battles after rebel and FSA groups launched a large-scale offensive to break the siege on liberated parts of the city.
Taljo, who is a representative of the FSA groups operating in Aleppo, said that the rebel and FSA groups are taking all measures to ensure the safety of civilians in Aleppo. He added that rebel and FSA fighters evacuated many families to safe areas after taking control of the Project 1070 area in southern Aleppo on Monday.
Taljo pointed out that the rebel and FSA groups are doing all they can to protect civilians, civilian facilities and infrastructure in the city in cooperation with the opposition’s provincial council in Aleppo. He added that these facilities will be put at the disposal of the interim government to resume the provision of services to residents of the city.
Children in the besieged parts of Aleppo have set tires on fire to create clouds of black smoke to ward off aerial attacks by the Assad regime and Russian air forces. Thousands of civilians have been killed so far in brutal attacks by Russia and regime forces on the city and countryside of Aleppo. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
