The Assad regime continues to raid homes and arrest civilians despite issuing 21 amnesty decrees for detainees from March 2011 to October 2022.
The Action Group for the Palestinians of Syria said that the Assad regime has been detaining the Palestinian-Syrian child Obada Al-Abdullah and his mother Yasmine Al-Abdullah for over nine years.
The London-based rights group said that militants affiliated with the Assad regime detained the mother and her six-year-old son in Al-Tadamon neighborhood in Damascus on July 27, 2013. The militants also detained Yasmine’s parents and two sisters.
The Group indicated that it documents the information it receives about the Palestinian-Syrian detainees in the prisons of the Assad regime despite the difficulties of documentation and the regime’s refusal to disclose the fate of the detainees, their names, and whereabouts.
The Group said that it had compiled a list of the names of more than 2,000 Palestinian-Syrian detainees in the prisons of the Assad regime, including 100 female detainees and many children.
