Member of the Syrian Coalition’s political committee Yasser Alfarhan said that the continued barbaric crimes by the Assad regime and Russia against the Syrian people hinder the political process and undermine all chances of reaching a political solution.
Aleppo News Network said that 860 people, including 155 children and 95 women, have been killed in the city of Aleppo and its countryside during the month of June. The overwhelming majority of the victims were killed in escalating bombardments by the Assad regime and Russian forces, according to the monitoring group.
Alfarhan added that Russia’s use of internationally banned weapons in Syria clearly shows how far Russia is prepared to go down the military solution in Syria in order to impose a political solution that is favorable to the Assad regime.
Alfarhan reiterated the Syrian opposition’s commitment to a just political solution that puts an end to the suffering of the Syrian people; ensures the return of refugees and displaced persons to their homes; and paves the way for the defeat of terrorist organizations in Syria.
