The Syrian Interim Government’s (SIG) Minister of Health Maram Al-Sheikh Mustafa toured hospitals and health directorates in rural Aleppo to discuss ways to improve healthcare for the population in the liberated areas.
Al-Sheikh Mustafa met with Director of the Free Directorate of Health in Aleppo Hassan Obeid and his assistant, Abdul Basit Al-Shyoukhi to discuss with them the situation of healthcare in the region. He stressed the importance of organizing projects and efforts in healthcare in the liberated areas, adding that these efforts need to correspond with the decisions and recommendations put forward by the Ministry.
Sheikh Mustafa also visited the Association of Health Workers in Aleppo and met with head of the Associaton of Nurses, Technicians and Midwives in Aleppo Branch, Tariq Najjar. The two sides discussed the important role of the associations in improving healthcare and empower the healthcare institutions with qualified staff and improve their working conditions.
He also met with the Head of the local council in the town of Marea, Fouad Abbas, and discussed with him the situation of healthcare in the town.
Sheikh Mustafa also visited a number of hospitals in the region and met with the management and doctors working in them. They talked about the importance of developing health and administrative work in the liberated areas as he thanked them for their tremendous efforts despite the difficult circumstances in the region and the limited resources.
