Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG), Abdurrahman Mustafa, received media workers at SIG’s office in rural Aleppo and discussed with them the conditions in the liberated areas and the difficulties they are facing.
The meeting brought together SIG’s ministers, representatives of the Association of Syrian Journalists, the Syrian Journalists Club, the Union of Aleppo Journalists, the Union of Syrian Journalists, the Association of Journalists in Eastern Ghouta and Rural Damascus, the Media Office of the Association of Independent Kurds, activists from southern rural Damascus, and independent media workers.
Mustafa praised the efforts being made by the media workers and their vital role in these circumstances that require combination of efforts, stressing the media workers’ major role in conveying the true picture to the public opinion.
“It is our duty to stand by the revolution in the face of our enemies,” Mustafa said, stressing the importance of “uniting efforts to produce national media serving the revolution that we are fighting for.”
Moreover, Mustafa pointed out that media is the most powerful means of communication in our modern times as it has a vital role in clarifying the facts and conveying them to the public opinion. Media is also a fundamental pillar in building the state and society, he added.
For their part, the media workers highlighted the major problems facing their work in the liberated areas, while Mustafa promised to seek to solve these problems as soon as possible. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
