The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) said that “the recent flight of a group of young men from the coastal region to the liberated areas once again proves the true nature of our revolution and reaffirms our responsibilities towards its goals and principles. It also reminds us of our duty towards our homeland and our revolution.”
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the SOC said: “During ten years of criminality, oppression, murder, and mass displacement, in addition to half a century of tyranny, the murderous Assad regime has transformed Syria into a wasteland, an environment hostile to humans, and a hotbed of crime, corruption and theft.”
The SOC stressed that “many young Syrians, from various affiliations and orientations, and from various regions, from the coast to the Euphrates region, Aleppo and Dara’a are certain that the road to the future is closed as long as the Assad regime remains in power. Escaping its project seeking to burn the country is their only option.”
“The decision and courage of these young people once again affirms our responsibility for safeguarding our revolution and committing to its goals and principles, including the unity of Syria and its people, and the right of all Syrians to freedom, justice and dignity.”
The SOC stressed that this “is a new occasion that reminds us of the need to reject injustice in all its forms, and of our duty to continue the struggle for a free Syria and a democratic civil system of government.” (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
