The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) co-opted four new members representing the provincial councils of Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, Aleppo and Idlib as part of the expansion process and within the framework of the reform plan approved by the General Assembly.
The new members are Muhammad Al-Makhlif, representing Deir Ezzor province, Jihad Matar, representing Raqqa province, Abdullah Hajj Zino, representing Aleppo province, and Youssef Abbas, representing Idlib province.
The SOC’s General Assembly had unanimously approved the reform plan, which aims to enhance the legitimacy of representation in the SOC and ensure credible and inclusive representation of all components. It earlier approved the replacement requests sent by the four provincial councils.
